Flying winger Ashley Fuller has become the latest signing for ambitious Holbeach United.

The Tigers swooped to snap-up the former Kettering Town left-sider on Saturday, with co-boss John Chand hailing him as an exciting addition to the United Counties League Premier Division.

Chand worked with Fuller during his days as Magnet Tavern chief, with the duo reaching the final of the FA Sunday Cup together.

And the UCL Premier Division title-winning chief has told Holbeach fans that the versatile ace will a top player at Carter’s Park.

He said: “We got the deal done on Saturday, so we’re naturally delighted.

“Ashley is an exciting winger who will play predominantly on the left. He can also do a job for us in attack or just off the front.

“He will be a very exciting addition to the UCL. He is quick, skilful and will bring great experience and balance to the side. I know for a fact that he had options to sign for clubs higher up than us.

“It’s great to have a top left sided player signed up, they are few and far between. When the likes of Ashley become available you have to do all you can to get them – and I’m delighted that we have got him.

“A few of the lads played with him while I was in charge of Magnet Tavern and will know what to expect from him. He’s a top signing.”

Fuller, who has also played for Cambridge City and Braintree, follows Jamie Stevens, Adam Jackson, Jonny Allen, Tom Roberts and Gary King in committing to Holbeach for next season.

The Tigers, under the joint charge of Chand and Graham Drury next season, are aiming to regain the UCL Premier Division title having surrendered their crown to Spalding United last term.
