Holbeach town fayre

This year’s Holbeach Town and Country Fayre is on course to be one of the biggest to date as more and more inquiries come in from people expressing involvement in this outdoor event.

The two-day event is being held in King’s Field, Ravens Gate/Fen Road, Holbeach, by kind permission of local businessman Ashley King on June 18 and 19.

Much interest has been shown in the classic vehicle section as this year there will be a “Classic Car & Vehicle Expo” where vehicle owners can display their pride and joy. Anyone wishing to enter can contact Bruce French on 01945 440394 for information plus details of camping if required.

A world record might be broken as it is hoped the biggest collection of Ransome Crawler tracked small tractors will be together in one place to celebrate the 80th birthday of the first one being built. More details are available from Julian Longford ([email protected], 07736 082945 or 01205 820153).

On the Sunday, the world famous Cabbage Hurling event will be staged with the silver challenge cup and £150 going to the winning team.

Chairman Andrew French said the committee has worked hard to put the emphasis on fun for all the family.
