Holbeach take over at top

Holbeach B are the new Spalding & District League leaders after leapfrogging Consti B with a 5-2 win.

Andy Spearman (r90) and Dennis Hix (r70) settled matters in the opening two frames to condemn Consti to their first defeat of the campaign.
Hopes of a whitewash were dashed, despite Neil Harvey (r50) securing breaks of 26 and 20 in a 200-189 reversal against Neil Burton (r60).
Bourne SC leaped up to third place with a 7-0 crushing of Gosberton.
Lester Gaunt (o20) capped a confident display with breaks of 30, 27, 22 and 20 in his last frame success.
Elliot Gaunt’s (r30) opening frame win was highlighted by a 20 break, although visiting Shane White (o40) secured a break of 29 of his own.
The other home victor was Tony Curry (r60), who had a break of 23.
Ben Wrigglesworth (scr) hit a 24-break to confirm Donington’s first success of the season with a 5-2 verdict at Pyramid A.
John Clapton (r110) had opened the match with a home win but Nigel Brasier (r60) levelled.
Pyramid B climbed away from the foot of the table with a 5-2 victory at
bottom-placed Consti A.
Alan Hansard (r70) put the hosts ahead but Martin O’Connor (r100) and Darrell Read (r30) piled on the agony for Consti, who are now the only team still looking for their first win of the season.
