Holbeach High Street closed following burst water main

Holbeach High Street is currently closed following a burst water main.

Anglian Water are set to visit the site this morning (Friday).

Lincolnshire Police say they’ve closed the road ‘in the vicinity of Boots’.

As of 9.30am Anglian Water said it would be on site soon in inspect the situation and have initially said the work will be completed by tomorrow (Saturday).

Local residents told The Voice that they had seen water bubbling up from underneath the road earlier this week but that the situation had worsened.

An Anglian Water spokesman said: “We are due to attend this location to investigate and repair an issue that has been reported to us.”

Stagecoach East Midlands has said the 505 bus service is diverting along the A17 until the road is re-opened.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “Our teams are currently working to repair a burst water main on the High Street in Holbeach. The pipe has now been isolated for repair and there is no impact on customer supply in the area. 

“The road is currently closed for the safety of our staff and local road users, but our team is working as quickly and as safely as possible to return things back to normal. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank local residents and road users for their patience while we complete this work.”
