Holbeach event goes with a bang

Holbeach businesses made a great start to the festive season with a Big Bang event.

Street entertainment, fancy dress, special offers and music were on offer during the special day-long celebration of all things local.

The Big Bang was organised by Coun Tracey Carter who wanted to encourage people to use local shops and businesses.

“It was great – everyone made a huge effort with displays and costumes. It was a really good day,” she said. “I hope we can do it again next year.”

Attractions even included fire dancing in a specially created fire garden for the event.

Holbeach Town Band provided festive music for visitors while Victorian dancing and Molly dancers provided some of the entertainment.

The day, which ran from 10am to 7pm, also saw stilt walking on the streets of the town.

Craftsmen from Chain Bridge Forge were demonstrating their skills and many town centre businesses had created special window displays for the Big Bang.
