Consti E are still looking for their first win of the season in the Spalding & District League but ran leaders Pyramid C close before going down 4-2.
It needed breaks of 28 and 46 from Jason Green (o56) in the last frame to settle matters in the visitors’ favour. Jason Bates (o77) had scored 27 and 46 in his opening frame win for Consti but Richard Skellett (o21) and Dave Pearson (o14) put Pyramid ahead. Jack Chilvers (o28) struck back for the hosts but that was not quite enough.
Mark Gray (o98) struck a 91 clearance to help Pyramid F close the gap at the top to a single point by seeing off Consti G 5-1.
Carl Gibson (o21) won twice to make it seven out of seven for the season and Oli Player (o28) was also on form before Martin Deacon (o14) won the last frame to prevent a whitewash.
Holbeach D moved nearer to the top two but had to work hard for their 6-0 win at Services D, with three games decided on the black. Denis Hix (r7), Paul Daw (o28) and Don Monk (o21) held their nerve to go with two more comfortable wins from Andy Spearman (scr).
Boundary A hit back from 2-1 down to beat Holbeach C 4-2 thanks to a black ball win from Tim Burrows (scr) and a last-frame decider by Steve Smith (r14).
Carl Wand (o7), Jamie Mumby (o28) and Geoff Wand (r7) were on form in Gosberton A’s 4-2 win against Services C. Geoff Hemsil (r21) and Nigel Cherry (o7) book-ended the evening with away wins.
James Sharpe (o49) hit a 47 break for Pyramid D but his black-ball win was the highlight for his team in their 5-1 defeat at home to Consti H. Olly Turner (o14), Doug Garfoot (o28), Jon Houldershaw (r14) and Adam Mayman (o28) were the away victors.
Chris Turner (o42) had a break of 31 and a 22 clearance in Services A’s 4-2 win against Donington C but his team made hard work of it after he followed Vince Fitter (o42) and Phil Spencer (o14) to open a 3-0 lead. Donington struck back with Matt Turner (o28) making a 25 clearance in his win and Lee Hempsall (o14) also victorious in a black-ball game.
Stuart Atkin (o42) made a 25 clearance to secure his sixth straight win of the season for Division Two leaders Holbeach A in their 4-2 comeback success against Pyramid B. Pete Jackson (r7) and Phil Cook (r7) had put the visitors two up but Mark Woodberry (o56) fired in a 44 break to win his game and Steve Dent (scr) levelled things before Atkin won the decider.
Consti F remain five points behind after a 4-2 win against Whittlesey C.
Pyramid A dominated at Holbeach F to close the gap on the top two with a 5-1 victory courtesy of John Twell (scr), Jim Benner (r14), Michael Twell (o7) and Dean Cole (o7). James Quinton (o14) got the home consolation.
Holbeach B maintained their 100 per cent record with a fourth straight win, seeing off Whittlesey A 5-1 to leave the hosts still looking for their first victory.
Pete Mullane (o21), Neil Harvey (o21) and Barry Haynes (o7) settled matters before Steve Jennings (o35) pulled one back but Garry Cooke (o14) completed things for the visitors.
Kevin Hawes (o14) won a re-spotted black match for Donington A against Services B but, despite Nigel Brasier (o28) also coming out on top of his black-ball game, their team went down 4-2. Jason Rose (o28), Andy Neal (r7) and Alan Hansard (scr) were the away victors.
Gosberton D chalked up a comfortable 5-1 win at Pyramid E thanks to James Parrott (r7), Neil Simmons (o14), Lynn Simmons (r21) and Paolo Gensiorskys (scr) being in winning form. Jeremy Radford (scr) was the sole home victor.
Consti D just managed to keep their noses in front at Donington B to stay a point clear at the top of Division Three. Geoff Ellingworth (r14) put them ahead, only for Phil Burrell (r7) to level. Tom Digby (r14) restored the away advantage and Martin Perkins (o28) put them two ahead before Darren Templeman (o7) made it 4-2.
Holbeach G closed in on the leaders with a 5-1 verdict against Consti A. Chris Leary (o21) put them ahead and John Dawson’s (o21) 25 clearance made it 2-0. Ben Harding (o42) and Ian Woodberry (r7) doubled that lead before Martyn Johnson (r21) halted the home charge.
Dougy Lythgoe (o14), Rich Wilson (o14) and a pair of wins from Paul Spittlehouse (o56) pushed Boundary B to within two points of top spot, in third place, with a 5-1 win at Consti C. Mark Craig (r14) prevented a clean sweep with a black-ball win.
Four of the five frames went down to the black ball as Donington D doubled their wins tally for the season with a 4-2 success at Gosberton C to pull away from the foot of the standings.
Stuart Tamplin’s (r7) final game win for the hosts was the only one not going the distance. Geoff Harris (r28), Pat Taylor (r14) and Dan Sawdy (scr) were the away victors, with Chris Sibley (r14) completing the other home success.
Nigel Goodwin (14) and Warren Driver (r21) gave Gosberton B a 2-0 lead at Consti B but they were unable to hang on and went down 4-2 after the hosts hit back with wins for Mick Johnson (o21), John Pike (r14) and John Keeton (o7).
Consti I were 4-2 winners against Whittlesey B with successes for John Bellerby (r14), David Twelves (scr) and Pete Stokes (r14). Pawel Skutela (r14) and Kay Skutela (r28) won the first and last frames for the visitors.
