Hemmings sets the pace

Conditions were perfect for quick times at Saturday’s Snowden Field parkrun in Crowland with 14 personal best times recorded on the 5K course.
Fifteen of the 80 runners, joggers and walkers were first-timers to Crowland, with seven completing their first parkrun.
Peterborough & Nene Valley AC junior Louise Hemmings was first across the line, in 16 mins 59 secs and the first female finisher was Alice Hall, 25:18.
Adam Caress was the highest-placed local club runner, with the Halmer Harriers man fifth, 21:20.
Anne Williams was celebrating her 100th parkrun, Paul Barnes and Donna Cartwright their 150th, while Justin Showell was completing his 617th.
More volunteers are needed to help this week.
The event starts at 9am on Saturday, so anyone able to spare a couple of hours to act as timekeepers, funnel manager, handing out finish tokens or as a barcode scanners is welcome.
Full training and support will be provided and the experienced volunteer team will be there to help. Email [email protected] for more details.
