Students in Spalding looking forward to their prom night can look great without breaking the bank thanks to a new initiative.
The Year 11 prom is a big milestone for students and it celebrates the end of their school life before they head to college or sixth-form.
Spalding Academy has been working hard to make the event as affordable as possible so everyone has the chance to attend.
One of the biggest costs is often the suit or dress which have to be bought for the occasion.
Natasha Ward, a Year Lead at the academy, has created the Prom Wardrobe so students can borrow clothing at no cost and they can continue being used by following year groups.
Staff have been making donations and now parents and the local community is being asked to get involved.
“The last two years have put a huge strain on many families in the local area. I thought it would be a great idea if we could help relieve some of the pressure from students and their families and also get the local community involved,” said Natasha.
Items required include suits, prom dresses, shoes, bow ties and accessories. The school can arrange cleaning of items as long as they are in good condition.
