Help for Ukraine crisis

Clients, staff and volunteers at a South Holland day centre have been collecting items to send to Ukraine.

The Meadows Day Centre has joined the national outpouring of support for the country currently under attack from Russia.

“Some of our older clients remember how hard it was in the war here, and how many things they missed, especially as younger people.

“Also, as a charity, we understand the importance of the generosity of other members of the community and are really pleased to see how our clients have thought about others,” said Maisie Wenham, of the Spalding centre.

Donations that have been collected include children’s toys, tinned food, toiletries and incontinence products.

“All of these things may seem basic to us here right now, but they are so important to those fleeing their homes with fear.”
