Health hub plan to book into store?

A prominent but vacant Spalding building could be turned into a new health centre.

Afterglow Tanning Studios, which currently operates in Hall Place, has taken over the former Bookmark premises in The Crescent.

It’s applied to South Holland District Council for change of use planning permission to turn the premises on the corner of Priory Road from a bookshop/cafe into a ‘wellness and community hub’.

The proposals include creating a sauna, steam room and ice bath alongside three treatment rooms and sunbeds.

There would also be an exercise room and a pilates studio.
