Hayes wants his Holbeach United side to have no regrets at the end of the season

Seb Hayes wants his Holbeach United team to end the season with no regrets.

The ChromaSport UCL Premier Division title hopefuls moved up to fourth in the table after Tuesday night’s 4-0 victory at Peterborough Northern Star.

Next up for the Tigers is a home date against second-from-bottom Northampton Sileby Rangers on Saturday (3pm), before they host Cogenhoe United on Wednesday (7.45pm).

Holbeach boss Hayes has openly said that he doesn’t believe his side will win the title, but admits that an upturn in form could see him change his mind.

He said: “All I want the lads to do is finish the season with no regrets.

“I may come across negative with some of my comments, but nobody believes in this team more than me – I built the squad after all.

“I’ve said all along that our aim is to finish in the top five and win a trophy in the cup competitions.

“We’re still on-course for that and I know we’re capable of achieving that finish.

“The next two home games are important. If we can win both of them and maybe the two games after that, I’ll have to re-assess and look at the table.”

Hayes is without Charley Sanders (hamstring), but could have the experience of Matt Warfield back in the squad.
