Hayes: Twin tests against high-fliers will show in-form Tigers where they are

Seb Hayes admits that Holbeach United will find out exactly where they are this season when they square off with two ChromaSport UCL Premier Division heavyweights.

The Tigers, who are now eight in the standings, visit table-topping Leicester Nirvana on Saturday (3pm) and then host Eynesbury Rovers on Wednesday (7.45pm).

They are ten points behind Nirvana with three games in hand, while sixth-placed Eynesbury are only two points better off than Holbeach having played three games more.

Lewis Leckie and Matt Warfield are pushing for starts after returning from injury in Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Wellingborough, but Charley Sanders is still banned and long-term injury absentee Dan Jenkins (knee) remains sidelined.

Hayes said: “We’ll really find out where we’re at in these two games.

“It’ll be a massive indicator for us. We’ll see if we’re going to be in the top five and challenging, or if we’ll be scrapping to make the top ten.

“If we can’t win those games, we need to make sure we don’t lose.

“We’ll go to Nirvana on Saturday and do what we always do. They’re top for a reason, but we just want to keep proving people wrong.”

Hayes added that Holbeach may be forced into the transfer market ahead of the clash, with Stacy Cartwright the latest name added to a lengthy list of absentees.
