Residents in Sutton Bridge are being urged to have their say on how £15,000 of police money will be spent on local groups.
As part of Lincolnshire Police’s Mutual Gains and Building Better Bridges projects the town is one of four areas being allocated cash.
Organisations in Sutton Bridge can apply for up to £10,000 to spend on their project that can help the community.
Who gets the cash will be decided by a public vote at a meeting to be held on Saturday, April 23, between 11am and 1pm at The Curlew Centre.
Safer Together Coorindator Alan Osborn, part of the office of the police and crime comissioner, said: “Building Better Bridges is giving you the community of Sutton Bridge an opportunity to apply for funding to make the area a safe place to live, work and play.
“Lincolnshire police has made £15,000 available to be spent on projects to be delivered in Sutton Bridge by local groups and organisations.
“This money will be allocated through a process known as Participatory Budgeting – where local people vote directly on which projects, they want to see funded.
“Applications invited for up to £10,000 or multiple applications for separate projects to a maximum of £10,000.”
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “Mutual Gains is a campaign to raise funds in four communities in Lincolnshire, before giving people in those communities a chance to say where that money should be spent.
“Cash has now been raised and many projects have been put forward by local people to be scrutinised by those in the area in the coming weeks.
“Most areas have around a dozen projects submitted for consideration and we’ve seen some really positive engagement.
“These projects will be discussed at the meetings.
“There will be plenty of interesting projects put forward, lots of people discussing them and more.
“Some of these projects could make a significant difference in the local community.”
The application process for groups to submit any bids for the money closes at 5pm on Friday April 1.
