Have your say on how £3.4m spent

South Holland groups could have a say on how £3.4m is spent in the area.

Organisations are being asked to bid for the money which is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).

To decide who gets the money, South Holland District Council is looking for 16 representatives from local businesses, community organisations, education providers, investors and other sectors to form a new Local Partnership Board.

The £2.7m prosperity funds are intended to be invested before March 2025 in local projects based around three key priorities; communities and place, support for local businesses and people and skills.

In addition, South Holland has also been allocated £700k as part of the Rural England Prosperity Fund to support rural businesses and community projects.

A council spokesman said: In order to support the effective investment of the funds, the council is seeking interest from individuals who can demonstrate a good understanding of South Holland’s challenges, needs and opportunities.

“The purpose of the Local Partnership Board will be to support the council in shaping and influencing how the funds are invested, drawing upon their local knowledge and expertise to provide vital feedback to be used as part of the decision making process.

“The board’s aim will be to help ensure that the funding is spent in a way that reflects the current needs of the district and its residents, bringing a community, business and skills focused perspective to support the council’s investment decisions.

“The board will also have a strategic role in identifying future opportunities and helping it to have the maximum possible local impact. to support the process in a strategic and impactful way.”

Members of the group will need to be able to contribute an average of two to three hours a month on a voluntary basis.

Anyone interested in being part of the Local Partnership Board, or in a further discussion on the roles available, can send an expression of interest to [email protected] by March 21 which should include contact information, details on the organisation, community group or business sector that you will represent, and a short overview of relevant knowledge, skills and experience that you feel you can bring to the role.
