Harrox’s home loss

Moulton Harrox Sunday suffered a narrow three-wicket defeat to Ufford Park 2nd in Rutland Cricket League Division Four East.

In what was the only senior cricket match involving a South Holland side to beat the rain over the weekend, Moulton saw their score of 120-7 chased down by Ufford (121-7) at Broad Lane.

After being put into bat, Harrox lost Vanraj Odedra (0) and Alex Baker (7) cheaply, but a solid partnership from Mike Kearns Snr (44) and Harry Lovell (27) ensured they’d post a defendable total.

Wickets continued to fall – including Dan Fasham and Rob Callaby for ducks, but a vital 22 not out from Harry Cranke helped Harrox past 100.

Lovell (2-21), Lewis Doughty (2-5) and Paul Bullock (2-17) all grabbed two wickets each as Moulton looked to pull off a remarkable win, but Nick Farrer (28), George Weed (27 not out) and Andrew Hinton (18 not out) eased Ufford Park home.
