Harrox Reserves are just champion

Moulton Harrox Reserves were crowned Peterborough League Division One champions on Tuesday night.
A 4-1 victory over Sutton Bridge on Saturday had all but sealed the title for Kev Nottingham’s side.
However, closest challengers Warboys then dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Whittlesey Reserves on Tuesday to confirm Harrox’s championship success.
Chris Hall had put Harrox a goal ahead on Saturday before Bridge equalised just after half-time.
Goals from Dec Earth, Martin Sandall and veteran Lee Hudson then sealed the victory for Harrox who will celebrate their title triumph this weekend in a home clash with Warboys.
The reserves’ match kicks-off at 4pm as part of a home double-header with the first team entertaining Ketton with a 1pm start.
Harrox’s first team saw their slim hopes of retaining the Peterborough League Premier Division crown almost end at the weekend.
After drawing 3-3 at home to Thorney last Wednesday night with Marcus Parry (2) and Ben Allen on target, Nigel Steadman’s side slipped to a narrow 1-0 away loss at table-topping Peterborough Sports on Saturday.
They bounced back with a 4-2 away win at Holbeach United Reserves on Tuesday night, but still trail the league leaders by six points with only four matches of their season remaining.
Holbeach United Reserves had recorded a second successive Premier Division victory with a 1-0 home win over Ketton on Saturday.
Jonny Allen netted the winning strike at Carter’s Park as the Tigers target a top ten finish.
Whaplode Drove recorded an emphatic 7-1 away success at Netherton United B in Division Four on Saturday.
Joe Strickland and Harry Grigas both hit hat-tricks for Drove who also had Jake Baines on target.
Holbeach Bank ended their Division Four campaign with a narrow 2-1 home defeat against Long Sutton Reserves on Saturday.
Warren Skeels was on target for Bank with Vince Mackie and Michael Palmer the match-winners for Long Sutton.
