Harriers in Parkrun action near and far

Halmer Harriers runner Richard Williams finished sixth in the weekly Parkrun at Snowden Field in Crowland on Saturday.

The veteran men’s 40-44 runner completed the 5K course in 23 minutes 22 seconds. It was his 116th Parkrun and 69th at Snowden Field, where his best time in 22:36. His overall best Parkrun time of 21:51 was set at King’s Lynn in May 2022.
The only other Halmer Harriers in action at Crowland were Rebecca Pearse, eighth female and 32nd overall, in 32:51, and Simon Eldridge, who came 41st in 53:02.
Other members of the Spalding-based club took part in three other Parkruns.
At Ferry Meadows in Peterborough, Janet Strickland clocked 33:48 for 410th place of 125 runners, while three of her club colleagues took on the challenge at March.
Kathryn Chapman was 98th, 40:32, Jayne Pell, 106th, 43:44, and Katherine Baxter 107th, 43:45.
Further afield, at The Pastures in Alnwick, Northumberland, Adam Caress was the first senior man to finish, completing the scenic course fourth overall in 21:24.
It was the 76th different Parkrun course Caress had completed since his first one at Durham in 2018.
