Half term fun for all at Frampton Marsh

Bughunt Frampton Marsh (Patrick Cashman RSPB) 02

Keep your little ones entertained with a fun-packed half-term week at RSPB Frampton Marsh.

See what mini monsters you can discover on land and in water by taking part in one of their pond dipping or bug hunting sessions.

Explore the wonderful watery world of pond dipping on Tuesday, at a cost of £3 per child with sessions running throughout the day.

On Thursday, May 29 brave the world of tiny terrors and have a go at bug hunting, also at a cost of £3 per child.

Booking is essential for both events.

Running throughout the holidays (May 24 – June 1) you can take part in the Migration Treasure Trail where you can learn about birds that come from all over the world to the local area.

Pick up an entry sheet from the visitor centre between 10am-4pm and then venture out onto the reserve to find the clues.

Crack the puzzle and return to the visitor centre to claim your prize.

The trail is £1 per child and is suitable for those aged five to 15.

There is also a Birds for Kids course on Wednesday where a friendly guide will teach children a thing or two about our feathered friends.

Sessions are at 10.30am and 1.30pm, costing £3 per child with advance booking essential.

You can take in all the wonders of nature by joining in with a spring stroll on Sunday.

Enjoy the acrobatics of swooping swallows, keep an eye out for cute chicks and listen to the melodic sound of warblers as you amble around the reserve with a knowledgeable guide.

This event starts at 2pm and costs £4 for adults and £2 for children. Please book in advance.

You can get more information on these or any other reserve activities by calling 01205 724678 or by emailing [email protected].
