Green Dragon took the top honours at the Pinchbeck and District Summer Darts League finals night with the standard of play very high.
Events at Spalding Services Club got under way with the Ward Trophy for teams in Division B and Division C.
Riverside A (Division B winners) completed a league and cup double there by beating Lincoln Arms B 5-2, with late wins by Carl Kirk and Andy Taylor sealing the trophy.
Green Dragon A, having won Division A, then went on to complete their own double to beat New Saracen’s Head 4-3 in the Knockout Cup final.
That clash saw maximum 180 throws from Mark Horspool and Scott Williams (twice).
Ace thrower Williams then went on to take the Captain’s Cup, beating Dan Gent from Lincoln Arms B 2-0 including another 180.
In the ladies’ final, Tina Gent (Lincoln Arms D) lost 2-0 to Lyndsey Wingell from Pinchbeck FC in a game that was a lot closer than the score represented.
The Mixed Pairs final was contested between Duggie McInerney and Sharon Barnard (Green Dragon A) and Ben Fensom and Coleen Rutterford (Services Club B).
This trophy was also won in straight legs, with the Dragon pair victorious 2-0.
The League Pairs final was one of the best games of the night. Again featuring was Williams – this time partnered with Ian Withers – against Dave Hasnip and Pete Grooby (New Saracen’s Head).
Typically, Williams and Withers won a very close encounter 3-2, with Williams and Hasnip (twice) nailing 180s.
Next up was the Singles final between Andy Bingham (Lincoln Arms A) and Dave Norbury (Drayman’s Arms).
In what was a high scoring match, Bingham claimed a 3-1 success.
The final game of the evening, the coveted Mark Tansley Memorial Trophy, was contested between Williams (winter Singles champion) and Bingham (summer Singles champion).
This saw Williams continue his fine run of form to take it 3-1, despite Bingham throwing a 180.
Also grabbing their title on the night were Division C champions Green Dragon B.
The league wish to thank Spalding Services Club for their hospitality and Ian Tilley for all his help to make this finals night another huge success.
