Gray lights up league with sensational 100 clearance

Cue ace Mark Gray lit up the Spalding and District Snooker League on Thursday night with a fantastic 100 clearance.

Gray (O98) got the break in his win over Consti H’s Seb Grimston (O28), giving Bourne SC A a great start to their 5-1 victory.
He also knocked in a 21 along the way.
Bourne followed it up with wins from Carl Gibson (O28), Pete Hodgson Kerry (O28) and Ian Clare (scr).
Oliver Player (O35) was the only loser, going down to Doug Garfoot (O21).
The loss allowed Services C to gain ground on leaders Consti H and they are now joint top on 27 points apiece.
Bourne move from seventh to sixth.
Services C moved up from third thanks to a 4-2 win over Holbeach C.
Geoff Hemsil (R21), Shane Cummins (O14) and Nigel Cherry (scr) were the winners for Services.
Clubmates Services A moved up to third after beating Pyramid C 4-2.
Adam Zignani (scr) got Pyramid off to a good start, beating Vince Fitter (O42) 74-65, before Phil Spencer (O7) answered back for Services.
Chris Dunmore (O35) and Jake Haslam (O21) followed with two frame wins, giving Services the victory, before Jason Green (O56) took another point for Pyramid.
A 5-1 loss for Consti E saw them drop from second to fourth.
They went down at home to Holbeach B, thanks to wins from Pete Mullane (O28), Ady Liquorish (R7), Charlie Mullane (R28) and Neil Harvey (O21).
Dan Peppercorn (O7) got the single point for Consti.
Holbeach D got a good 5-1 win over Pyramid D.
Denis Hix (R7), Andy Spearman (scr), Paul Daw (O28) and Don Monk (O14) won the first four frames respectively to give Holbeach the win, before Ryan Burton (scr) got a convincing 70-9 win over Ian Woodberry (O7) to take the solitary point for Pyramid.
Down at the bottom of the division, the match between last year’s champions Donington C and Pyramid A was postponed and Consti G had a free week.
In a top-of-the-table battle, Boundary A held on to the top spot in Division Two thanks to a 5-1 win over Services B.
Pete King (R7), Daniel Smith (O14), Tim Burrows (R14) and Steve Smith (R14) got the points for Boundary.
Andy Neal (R7) was the only winner for second-placed Services.
Clubmates Services D have moved into third after a 4-2 win over Gosberton A.
Carl Wand (scr) got Gosberton off to a good start, before Paul Spicer (O14) hit back for Services.
Ian Smith (scr) and Kevin Robbs (R7) took the next two frames for Services, giving them the win.
Alan Jackson (scr) beat Russ Morse (scr) in the final frame to take a second point for Gosberton.
Holbeach E jumped up two places to fourth, after they whitewashed Consti I 6-0. Phil Coaten (O14), Richard Parkes (scr), James Crampton (O14), Chris O’Leary (O14) and Ethan Lawrence (R7) were the successful team.
Holbeach F took on Holbeach A with the A team coming out on top 5-1.
Ben Harding (O42) got the F team off to a good start, but it was downhill from there as Steve Dent (O7), Pete Ransom (twice) (O28) and Stuart Atkin (O42) all took their frames.
Whittlesey C got the better of Donington A, beating them 4-2.
Whittlesey wins came from Jason Bloomfield (O21), Gary Thewliss (scr) and Paul Cook (O21), while John George (O7) and Kevin Hawes (O7) got the points for Donington.
Consti F got an excellent 5-1 win over Pyramid E, thanks to wins from Darren Stanley (R28), Robert Adams (O7), Martyn Stanley (R14) and Bryan Turnell (R14).
Neil McLean (R7) took the final frame from Justin Stanley (O7) to give Pyramid a single point.
Gosberton D are holding on to the top spot after beating Whittlesey A 4-2.
Wins from Neil Simmons (scr), Paolo Gensiorskys (scr) and James Parrott (R7) gave Gosberton the points.
Jason Clarke (O7) and Malc Bruce (scr) got the wins for Whittlesey.
Pyramid B have moved up from fifth to second, after they beat Consti J 4-2.
Consti J got off to a good start thanks to Les Andrew (O7) and Trev Braybrook (R14) who beat Phil Cooke (R7) and Dennis Pearson (scr) respectively.
Darren Hibbins (scr), Carl Kelham (R7) and Roy Jackson (R14) took the next three frames for the match win, leaving Consti firmly at the bottom of the table.
Donington B dropped to third place after a 4-2 loss to Consti D.
Boundary B beat Gosberton C 5-1.
Gosberton took the first frame, thanks to Rob Lockett (R28) but it didn’t go well from there with Paul Spittlehouse (O49), Mick Goddard (scr), Mick Walker (O35) and Dougy Lythgoe (O21) winning the next four.
Whittlesey B also had a good 5-1 win at home to Consti A.
Paul Kent (R14) took the first frame on the black ball from Kay Skutela (R28), but the next four frames went Whittlesey’s way, thanks to Andy Skutela (R14), Michael Foster (O14), Kerry Skutela (R28) and Pawel Skutela (R7).
Foster pocketed a 27 clearance in his win over Wayne Wilding (O14).
Consti C managed to move off the bottom of the table, thanks to a 4-2 win in their rearranged game against Whittlesey B. They lost 4-2 to Gosberton B on Thursday night though.
Consti D got the better of Donington D, beating them 4-2.
