Grand walking fundraiser for flower parade

More than £1,000 was raised for the hosting of this year’s Spalding Flower Parade on Sunday, as part of a sponsored walk.

There were 20 people who took on the 12.5 miles sponsored walk around the town.

Flower parade organiser Steve Timewell organised it and said: “It was a great day and we managed to raise over £1,000 for the flower parade.

“There was about 20 of us in the end which I was made up with. It was absolutely wonderful, and we’ll definitely do it again, but maybe a bit shorter distance next time.”
