Grand opening for school library

A “fantastic” new library area has been officially opened at Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Hall School.
Largely funded by the hard work and generous donations of the PTFA, the library has been redecorated and carpeted, and houses smart, colourful new bookcases and a range of comfortable seating, including two cosy “snugs”.
Brian Hendry, vice chairman of governors, whose association with the school goes back 50 years, cut the ribbon to declare the library open and parents and children had the opportunity to see the completed project for themselves.
Headteacher Clare Ogden thanked all those who had contributed to the project, not least the children who had been invited to submit ideas themselves.
One of the librarians, Hannah Murchie, said: “The library looks great. It was a long wait but it definitely paid off.
“It feels really good to see all of our ideas finally put together.”
