Grab slice of £32m Sportivate funding

V COMMUNITY

Sporting clubs across South Holland are being urged to apply for a slice of £32million of funding.

Sportivate is a nationwide campaign that gives people aged between 11 and 25 the chance to receive six weeks’ sport coaching or led sessions for little or no cost. This includes disability sport.

An example of one local recipient of funding is Volleyball Spalding, which was granted £730 to target 29 new participants.

The next deadline to apply for funding is Friday, May 30, 2014. This deadline date is for projects which are looking to target women and girls’ sport between July this year and March 2015.

The final deadline for the current year of funding is August 1, 2014. This is open to all clubs and organisations looking to run a project between October this year and March 2015.

To find out more about Sportivate and download an application form visit http://lincolnshiresport.com/sportivate/ or contact Lucy Blakey by email at lucy.blakey@lincolnshiresport.com or call 01522 585 580.

Sportivate is a National Lottery-funded programme and is part of the Play strand of Sport England’s London 2012 mass participation legacy programme “Places People Play”.

The overall aim is to try to change habits and get more young people doing activity regularly.
