A Spalding care home has been rated good across the board after a recent inspection.
St John’s Care Home in Hawthorn Bank can care for up to 51 people over the age of 65 and had also been rated good overall at its previous inspection.
The report into the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) latest visit in June describes the staff as “kind and caring and knew people and their needs well.
The report continues: “Some care plans needed further information on how to tailor care to people’s individual needs and this had been identified as an action by the registered manager.
“However, staff’s knowledge of how people preferred to receive their care meant that the lack of recording did not impact on people. People received compassionate support at the end of their lives.
“The environment was pleasant and allowed people a choice of where to spend their time. The provider had plans in place to refurbish the upstairs area of the home to better support people living with dementia.”
Overall St John’s was rated “good” by the CQC inspectors in being safe, effective, caring, responsive and well lead.
On leadership the report says: “The service was consistently managed and well-led.
“Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.
“The culture in the home was caring and staff focused on providing care which met people’s needs.
“It was clear staff knew people well and had developed kind caring relationships with them.”
