Good causes benefit as Pinchbeck Cricket Club make tough decision to call it a day

After a long and rewarding 45 years on the local circuit, Pinchbeck Cricket Club have made the tough decision to officially close the club down.

Since reforming in 1976, the club have enjoyed many fantastic years competing, mainly in the South Lincs and Border League.

Pinchbeck haven’t played a match since the end of the 2019 season when, due to a decreasing number of players, they decided to pull out of the South Lincs and Border League – but with a forward plan to keep the club very much alive through playing some friendly matches.

Sadly, that plan has not been able to be followed through and despite the disappointment that such a decision brings, the remaining members have agreed that this is the most sensible course of action.

In a final meeting, it was agreed that the remaining funds within the club would be donated to worthy causes, and subsequently, a combined total of £2,250 was donated to Prostate Cancer, Children In Need and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance.

The remaining members will keep the club’s Facebook page open for any ex-players and associates to stay in touch.

The club thanks all members past and present for their many valuable contributions over the last 45 years.
