Good arrows at high-quality Pinchbeck and District Darts League finals night

The standard of play was incredibly high as the Crowson VW Pinchbeck and District Winter Darts League came to a close with a fantastic finals night.

No less than eight trophies were up for grabs at the Spalding Services Club event, while the league champions also collected their titles.

The H&H Cup went the way of Riverside A, who beat Snooker Club 4-3 thanks to a last-leg win from Del Croft –who nailed a 180 en-route to seeing off Kev Hawes.

Up next was the Captain’s Cup showdown, which saw Dan Hardy edge out fellow skipper Tony Clark as he got to the double first in the final leg.

It was also close in the Ladies’ Cup final, with Sarah Fletcher seeing off Stacey Banister 2-1 despite some high scoring from the latter.

The scoreline wasn’t as close in the Knockout Cup final, with The Swan earning a 5-2 win over Drayman’s A. Jason Hammond hit a 180 for league-runners up Swan in that one.

Not content with one trophy, Swan then edged out league champions New Saracen’s Head C 3-2 in the Fours final with Dave Piccaver scoring a maximum.

Then came the all-Lincoln Arms Mixed Pairs final, with Tina Gent and Karl Rolfe defeating Banister and Rick Harker 2-0.

Swan pairing Hammond and Duggie McInerney then got their hands on the League Pairs trophy with a 3-1 success over Mark Horspool and Duncan Hunt, with Hammond making a 137 check out.

The final match of the night was the Singles, with Gary Mace and Piccaver hitting 14 ton-plus scores between them.

In the end it was Riverside B’s Mace who prevailed 3-1 in a top notch clash.
