Long-serving staff at Lincolnshire Co-op have been honoured for completing 25 years’ service.
In total 27 members of staff from all areas of the business, including florists, travel agents and customer service staff, were presented with a commemorative gold watch at a special long service dinner.
Among those celebrating was Rachel Clifton, who has worked at the Co-op’s Spalding travel branch for 25 years, during which time it has been in four different locations.
She said: “We started out next to the baked beans in the food store.
“The branch we’re in now on Hall Place is definitely an improvement.”
Some of Rachel’s fondest memories of her time with the company involve taking part in fundraising activities for Lincolnshire Co-op’s Charity of the Year, including abseiling.
She said: “It was on the hottest day of the year.
“Everyone had sunburn and blisters – we were very happy to see Stonehenge and the finishing line.”
Also honoured at the event was Garry Fisher of Long Sutton Butchery, who had also completed 25 years.
Head of people and performance Heather Lee said: “It’s a testament to what a great place Lincolnshire Co-op is to work that people stay with us for so long.
“We’re really very proud of the staff that have been with us for 25 years; the long service dinner and awards are just one way of recognising their hard work and dedication.
“It’s also brilliant to see how colleagues have progressed up through the Society, from starting out as trainees to ending up in management positions.”
