Giving Macmillan charity drive an extra lift

While many enjoyed a cake to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in the last few days, one local gym looked to burn calories instead.

Definitions Health and Fitness Gym in Cradge Bank, Spalding held a weight-lifting and exercise competition for the charity on Sunday September 30.

And in doing so they raised at least £600 for the charity.

Gym manager Jack Smith, said: “It went great for a first competition and it was a fantastic opportunity to raise money for Macmillan.

“All the competitors were phenomenal, most achieving personal bests in their lifts and the atmosphere was on another level. It was great to see the support from everyone on the day encouraging each other to do well.”
