Give a gift to make a child’s Christmas

The countdown to Christmas has begun and we’re appealing to you, our readers, to help us help those less fortunate this festive season.

We’ve teamed up with Spalding letting agents We’ll Let Your House to help launch their annual Give A Gift appeal, which aims to make Christmas a truly happy time for every child in South Holland whatever their circumstances.

We are kicking off the appeal by donating £200 of toys and games paid for thanks to the Spalding and South Holland Voice Community Fund.

But we need lots more, so while you’re doing your Christmas shopping, we’re asking you to purchase an extra gift and donate it to the appeal.

Support from Home-Start South Holland and other local organisations will make sure all donations go to families that really need them this Christmas.

We are also asking readers to tell us if they know of a family that would benefit from our appeal.

Nominations will remain confidential meaning they can be made without fear of embarrassment on behalf of those suggested.

Please send us your nominations including your name and phone number, details on the family you are nominating and the reasons you think they should benefit.

You can email us at [email protected] or write to Give A Gift Appeal, 14-16 Winsover Road, Spalding, PE11 1EJ.

We’ll be delighted if you decide to support the appeal but ask you please not to gift wrap your present – they need to be assessed to make ensure families receive toys suitable for their child’s age and gender.

We are accepting gifts suitable for children from birth to age 13.

There are several collection points where you can leave your donations:

Our offices, 14-16 Winsover Road, Spalding (opposite Aldi)

We’ll Let Your House, Broad Street Business Centre, 10 Broad Street, Spalding

Sainsbury’s, Holland Market, Spalding

Beales Department Store, Market Place, Spalding

The appeal closes at 5pm on Thursday, December 17 to leave enough time to get the gifts wrapped and distributed.
