Slapdash Appalachian Dancers will be performing at Celebrate Surfleet’s summer fete.

Celebrate Surfleet will be taking over the village park at the weekend with lots of fun and games on offer.

The group holds its annual summer fete and dog show at Glen Park from 11am to 4pm on Sunday.

Attractions throughout the day include:

  • Celebrate Surfleet Antiques Roadshow with Colin Young and his associates from Golding Young & Mawer doing free valuations on your antiques and collectables.
  • Kuk Sool Won martial arts display.
  • Nooky from ITV’s Bad Lads Army will be knocking some of the locals into shape.
  • South Lincolnshire Appalachian Dancers Slapdash will be performing traditional percussive clog dances from the Appalachian mountains of the USA. Most of these dances have undergone changes to survive in the unfamiliar landscape of the Fens and others have completely been made up in Pinchbeck. The dancing is high-energy, noisy and fun.
  • Fun dog show with novelty classes run by Lincolnshire, Essex and Trent Boxer Rescue. Register your entries from 11am on the day.
  • Animal Investigations will be demonstrating some of their talented birds and animals.
  • Balloon race with balloons released on the day and cash prizes for the finder of the balloon and the owner of the winning balloon.
  • Raffle with a first prize of a hot air balloon ride.

Catering for this year will be from The Hog Master of Spalding and The Baked Potato Catering Company so there will be plenty of choice for everyone and hot and cold drinks will be available out on the field and inside the village hall in the cafe area.

Martin and Ian Anderson, of MWA Photography, will be attending all day taking photographs and for the first time printing them out for visitors on the day.
