Aspiring young golfers are being offered the chance to learn from the best and follow in the footsteps of Spalding Golf Club’s Elite Junior Squad.
Spalding Golf Club has long been recognised as having a strong junior section – and the current crop are no exception, with seven of them turning out for Lincolnshire and one representing England.
The one thing they all have in common is that they have come through junior coaching at the Surfleet club.
Now Spalding is opening its doors to all juniors in the area, members or not, for free “taster sessions”.
The new-look junior coaching sessions will be held on Saturdays (10am-11am), with the two free taster sessions being on March 3 and 24.
Spalding’s Club Professional Adam Keogh, the Midlands PGA Coach of the Year, will run the sessions along with PGA level 1 coaches.
The coaching will take the form of the Junior Golf Passport, a structured learning programme for children aged between six and 16 years, endorsed by the PGA.
The multi-layered programme progresses a complete novice golfer into a junior golfer ready for membership at a golf club.
Any children wanting to attend the taster sessions can bring their parents, who will be treated to a free hot drink.
