Gary grabs glory at Tydd St Giles’ away day at Rutland Water

Gary Brown was the overall winner at Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s captain’s away day at Rutland Water.

Some 46 players took part in a match played in perfect conditions and organised by skipper Vinney Day.

The best front nine came from Ian Cooper and the best back nine was scored by Trevor Sewell.

Nearest the pin were: 4th hole – Steve Hart; 7th hole – Kevin Goude; 12th hole – James Hale-Smith; 17th – Ian Cooper. The longest drive (18th) came from Jimmy Woods.

  • Ladies’ AM/AM – 1st Jennifer Ebbs, Joan Collison, Jacqueline Reek and Janet Yeomans (King’s Lynn) 95pts; 2nd Julia Gray, Elaine Randall, Christine Begley and Christine King (Bourne) 94pts; 3rd Ann Ellis, Debbie Perry, Deborah Godfrey and Soon Letchford (King’s Lynn) 93pts.

A healthy £203 was raised for Tydd ladies’ chosen charity, Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
