GALLERY – Hundreds give it a go

More than 800 people ‘gave it a go’ on Saturday in Holbeach as part of a week of activities across the district.

The annual Give It A Go event, where local clubs showcase what they do to the community, moved to Carter’s Park this year.
And it proved hugely popular with a fantastic turn out.
As well the usual sports clubs, there was theatre and singing groups taking to the stage.
There was also a tug of war competition raising money for the chair of South Holland District Council Andrew Woolf’s chosen charities Mencap and Blood Cancer UK.
A spokesman for South Holland District Council’s Communities team, which organised the event said: “What an amazing day we had.
“Over 800 joined us for our activity taster sessions.
“A huge thank you goes to everyone who came and supported the event and especially to our fantastic local clubs and groups.”
The Communities team has published a survey for those who attend to fill in.
It’s available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/VSGWHVF
They’re also putting on a ”Bike Jam’ from 11am to 4pm next to Spalding Skate Park on Tuesday, August 20.
