This year’s Pinchbeck Carnival was bittersweet as committee stalwart Chris Schofield stepped down after 40 years.

Chris and wife Christine, who have been instrumental in the organisation of the carnival for four decades, have decided it’s time for a change.

The theme for the carnival was the 1940s and entertainment on the day included The Blighty Belles and the Diamondz Dance team.

The event was opened by Carnival Queen Sophia Brain, prince Luca Santana and princess Maggie Chipperfield.

Committee member Jan Whitbourn said: “We were so pleased to see such an amazing turnout and the rain held off to make sure the day was complete.

“A massive thank you to the committee for their continued work, passion and eagerness each year.”
