GALLERY: Academy pupils are outstanding

Spalding Academy students have shown they’re outstanding once again.

At the end of each school year, every year group has an awards evening at Springfields where two students from every subject are nominated for awards.

There’s also nomination for Outstanding Progress throughout the academic year and one nomination per year group for a student that has shown Outstanding Effort in a subject.

Spalding Academy’s successful Key Stage 3 Gymnastics Squad were awarded for their outstanding successes this year and the Boys’ Year 10 Basketball Squad were recognised for their achievements in winning the Spalding/Bourne section of the South Lincs Sports Federation.

At this year’s awards the winners and their families were entertained by Spalding Academy’s wonderful dance group.

Spalding Academy’s pastoral manager Ian Billinghurst, said: “Each evening was well attended and it was lovely sharing the successes of our students with their families, friends and members of staff.

“Over 150 students were rewarded for their outstanding achievements this academic year and Spalding Academy are extremely proud of all of the awards winners.

“A special thanks to all the parents and carers that continue to support Spalding Academy and their children’s education, all the staff that made these awards evenings possible, the students for their continued hard work, the dance troop for giving up their time each night to perform for us and also Springfields for the lovely floral decorations for each of the evenings.”
