Future looks bright as Holbeach United receive coveted Lincs FA award

Holbeach United Community Sports Academy are celebrating after winning the Lincs FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year award.

The Tigers’ youth section has gone from strength-to-strength in recent years, with their purpose build Kings Academy the catalyst.

Since the Pennyhill-based Academy was built two-and-a-half years ago, the club has grown to 17 youth teams – ranging from under-7s to under-18s, which includes a girls’ team.

It has also brought the community together with the annual Music and Beer Festival, along with the community hall being used on a regular basis for community events.

Stuart Clark, who is vice-chairman of Holbeach United Community Sports Academy youth section, said:

“The award is a massive achievement for the club and is dedicated to all the past committees and coaches that have kept the club running over the past 30 years.

“We have been fortunate to develop the old Pennyhill site with the generosity of the late John King and his son Ashley and the hard work and effort of the trustees and committee members.

“The future looks bright for football in Holbeach, with players progressing from the youth to senior teams – which has already seen the youth playing in both the reserve and first team.”

Holbeach were nominated for the award by the Peterborough Junior Alliance League, which houses many of their junior sides.
