Fundraising for Tanzania trip

There will be something for everyone at a fundraising event in Spalding on Saturday.

The event at the Birds in Halmergate is raising money to help fund a trip to Tanzania for 15 Sir John Gleed School students and two teachers next year.

The students each need to raise £2,295 to cover the cost of the trip.

The fun day runs from 12pm to 4pm and attractions include a tombola, a penalty shoot out, bric-a-brac, bingo, a raffle, a bouncy castle, a cake stall and a lucky dip.

There will also be a fancy dress disco from 6pm to 10pm.

So far students have taken part in supermarket bag packs, organised a fashion show and put on refreshments at a number of events to raise money.
