Free music event in Spalding town

A host of top local acts are revving up for a free day of music and bikes in Spalding’s Market Place.

Live Music Day on Sunday (August 9) will see eight bands playing in the town centre from 12pm on a specially erected stage.

And bikers are encouraged to come along and bring their vehicles too with displays set for a number of nearby streets.

It all kicks off at 1pm with Zebra taking to the stage.

They’re followed by Keep This Up (12.40pm), Fred Lane (1.20pm), Replay (2pm), Sound Injektors (2.40pm), Highlights (3.20pm) Velocity (4.20pm) and headliners The Houndogs bringing their hugely entertaining rock ‘n’ roll show from 5.10pm to 6pm.

Motorbike parking and viewing areas will be in Broad Street, New Road, Red Lion Street, Herring Lane, Sheep Market and Hall Place.

A host of local businesses will be open serving food and drink throughout the day.

The event is being put on by Spalding Business Improvement District in conjunction with Live Promotions.
Entry is completely free.

There won’t be additional seats, but visitors are welcome to bring chairs.

A spokesman for Spalding BID said: ” We can’t wait to bring another fantastic day of live entertainment to Spalding.

“Whether you’re staying for one band or making a day of it, we hope you’ll join us in supporting our local businesses and helping to make it a memorable event for everyone.
