Free fun at 50s themed fest

Step back into the 1950s with a specially themed day of events at Ayscoughfee Hall this Saturday, July 23.

From 10.30am to 4pm there will be a host of vintage fun and games for all the family to try.

Entry to the event is free with the majority of the action set to take place in and around the historic building’s gardens.

It’s also doubling as part of the town’s continuing celebrations for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Activities include:
* 50s themed crafts to make kites, cup and ball game and spinners
* Vintage children’s rides including a carousel and swing boats
* Live singing entertainment on the stage
* 50s themed dance performance by Diamondz dance group
* Garden games and more

A spokesman for South Holland District Council’s Communities team, which is running the event, said: “Start the school holidays off with a fun day out in the beautiful surroundings of Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens.

“In celebration of the Queens Jubilee year, we have a 1950s event taking place.

“With free activities and live entertainment we hope you will be able to join us.

“Bring a picnic or enjoy eating at the newly refurbished Ayscoughfee Cafe.”
