Free community event in Spalding to learn more about and join local groups

A free event in Spalding will give people a chance to learn about and join local groups.

Join In July is at Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding on Saturday, July 18 from 10.30am until 4pm and will have live demonstrations and talks.

Thirteen local groups have already signed up to the event, but organisers are keen to hear from any others interested in taking part.

Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for community at South Holland District Council, said: “There are many excellent community groups in South Holland and this event will give them a chance to showcase themselves to the public.

“We hope that Join in July proves popular and if it does, then we will consider holding it on a regular basis.”

Community groups taking part in Join In July include Spalding Lions, Pinchbeck United Football Club, Spalding Gentlemen’s Society and Home-Start South Holland.

Any community groups which would like to take part should contact 01775 764555 or email museum@sholland.gov.uk.
