Four-way success for Spalding girls

Spalding Golf Club’s ladies were victorious playing in a four-way match.
The match was played as a cumulative Stableford with eight women in each team.
Representing Spalding were Jean Wilkinson, Lizzie Cooke, Sally West, Beryl Clay, Jacquie Walton, Jane Blom Shirley Gurbutt and Elaine Hancock.
The score was 267pts to Spalding. Second was Belton Woods with 226pts, third Melton Mowbray and fourth Greetham Valley.
Other results: The President’s Putter was won by Sarah Gibson and Theresa Blake, with runners up Sally West and Kay Green.
The Groom Shield winner was Helena Steward, with Beryl Clay runner-up.
In the President’s Cup Bogey Competition Jane Blom took first place with +6, Sally West was second with +5 and third was Jacquie Walton with +1.
Ruth Atkins and Liz Holbrook won the Coronation Foursomes with 42pts, from Amie Carter and Alison Willson (39pts) in second and Claire Rylott and Ronnie Thorogood (37pts) in third.
