Four-some Moulton Harrox enjoy title party and Pinchbeck United smash six

Champions Moulton Harrox enjoyed a title party at Broad Lane as they beat Peterborough ICA Sports 4-0 in their final ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division game of the season on Saturday.

For once, it was all about events off the pitch – with boss Dave Panton and his side getting their hands on the trophy after the final whistle.

On the field, Harrox led 2-0 at half time thanks to a powerful Ben Allen finish from a tight angle and a header from top scorer Ollie Maltby.

Two more goals followed after the interval as Billy King laid on crosses for Maltby and Bobby Patterson to head home.

We’ll have plenty of pictures from the title party in Thursday’s edition of The Spalding and South Holland Voice.

Behind Moulton, Pinchbeck United secured at least a third placed finish with a crushing 6-2 victory at Crowland Town.

A hat-trick from player/boss Ian Dunn and goals from Tony Edwards, Tom Sergeant and Brad Murrell – via another trademark free-kick – got the goals at Snowden Field.

Pinchbeck need Whittlesey Athletic to pick up two points or less from their final two games if they are to finish second.

Moulton and Pinchbeck both have one more game to play – which is the President Premier Shield final against each other at Stamford’s Zeeco Stadium on Friday night (7.30pm).
