Ben Wilson ended a testing MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship campaign with a four-point haul at Brands Hatch over the weekend.
That means that the Kirton ace finishes on 40 points for the campaign, placing the Gearlink Kawasaki racer in 20th position overall in the standings.
The weather was on Wilson’s side during a damp qualifying. He made it through the first phase in 17th place and completed the second phase in 18th position to earn himself a place on the sixth row of the grid for the start of race one.
As the riders took their grid positions, the rain was once again falling steadily.
Wilson made a steady start and moved through the field to 12th, but he was too far behind to make any further progress.
Starting the second race on Sunday from the fourth row, he held 14th place for a couple of laps but encountered a problem with the bike and retired to the pits at the end of lap eight.
Race three was the final race of the campaign. Starting from the sixth row he again got away to a good start and was 11th at sector one, but once again began to drop down the order as the problem returned and he finished in 17th.
