Four new jobs if Pinchbeck children’s nursery given permission to expand

A children’s nursery in Pinchbeck with a long waiting list is hopeful of being granted permission to increase its premises.

Sunflower Lodge Childcare, in Elsoms Way, wants to create space for up to 20 more children and up to four new jobs through an expansion plan. It has submitted a planning application for a change-of-use of the vacant office next door to its site to further its childcare space.

Lisa Oddie, childcare manager, said: “At the moment it is in the consultation process and we are considering all of our options.
“It is very early days but we are really hopeful.”

The application said the current nursery has “reached capacity with a large waiting list”.
The expansion is expected to create a dedicated centre for two-year-olds and would potentially open in the New Year. The facility currently has spaces for around 57 children.
