Four-midable leaders show off their Tekkers once again

Goals were at a premium on a roasting hot night of action in the popular Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side League on Monday night.

The lowest goal tally of season didn’t stop Tekkers from continuing their 100 per cent record in the top tier, squeezing past East Europa with a bizarre spot-kick.

In the second tier, Balotellitubbies pulled off the biggest shock of the night, ending Sarah’s Boys’ perfect start in the process. They managed to grab a 4-2 win to leave just Puyol Pants Down as the team with four wins from four in the second tier.

A peculiar spot-kick was enough for Tekkers to carry on with their perfect start to the campaign in the first game of the night in the top tier.

They managed a 1-0 victory over a stubborn East Europa side in a firecracker of a contest, with the only goal coming late on. Tekkers captain Josh Faulkner saw his spot kick strike the post, hit the back of keeper Tomas Urbanavicius and roll into the net.

Dan Bergin grabbed man of the match (MOTM) in this clash.

The next scheduled game was a non-starter, as Old Boy Coaches were unable to attend their fixture due to a player shortage. Notinmymums Forest were given a 5-0 default win, with Coaches fined and given a warning.

Game three saw last season’s runners-up and winners of Division One met in a classic of a match.

In the end, Pro Ballers went down 1-0 against hard-working champions Polishborough.

The Poles, who are set to represent Spalding on the national stage this weekend, defended well and grabbed a winner through Adam Mus.

Next up, Evolution goalkeeper Richard Cundall was to thank as he kept the margin of defeat to a respectable 2-0 against in-form You’ve Got No Fans.

Two second-half goals got the job done for YGNF, who are on a real roll of late.

There was then some relief for Simple FC, who finally managed a win to kick-start their season.

They put on a display of old to turn over The Squad 2-0 in a pivotal game. Leigh Boekstijn was MOTM for Simple as he also returned to form.

Division One then came to a close with Mirror Signal Malouda losing 3-1 to Univeg Team.

Unlucky MSM will feel frustrated not to have come out of this with at least a point, but Univeg defended well and broke with quality.

MOTM went to Ricardo Silva in this one.

The biggest surprise of the night came in the first game of Division Two, as Balotellitubbies beat Sarah’s Boys 4-2 to raise a few eyebrows.

In a game that saw both Stuart Boswell (Balo) and Robert Thurlow (Sarah’s Boys) yellow carded and fined, MOTM Michael Cope was his usual lethal self up front.

Match two was a goalless draw between BK’s Athletic and The TBME. Both sides cancelled each other out with similar styles of play and it became apparent early on that this would fizzle into a 0-0.

Callum Davies secured MOTM for BK’s.

Meanwhile, Nibblesborough FC ended Mail Carters unbeaten start to the season by turning them over 2-0.

A thoroughly professional and expert performance from Nibblesborough saw them control the game from the off, with Harry Ledger named MOTM.

Puyol Pants Down now boast the only flawless record in the second tier as they made it four wins four when they smashed lowly Dynamo Kiev 2-0.

Dynamo have unwittingly become the whipping boys of the division and will be gutted with the weak display they offered here.

Dan Woods secured MOTM in this game.

Posh Old Boys are up to sixth after beating FC Barnicols 4-1 in the biggest margin of victory across both divisions.

They dictated every aspect of the match, with Barnicols out-of-character and missing that final piece of quality.

Shane Miller grabbed his first MOTM award of the season in that clash.

Bowlcut Wanderers FC then wrapped up the Division Two action as they squeezed past Tekkerslovakia 1-0.

It was a clever and well-planned tactically victory as they picked up just their second win since being relegated from the top tier. Sam Harris was on fire as Bowlcut looked to enjoy their football again.
