Four goals in six minutes end Vase hopes

Holbeach United’s FA Vase campaign was effectively ended in a six-minute spell when they conceded four goals to Newark Town on Saturday.
The match against the United Counties League Division One outfit was all square at 0-0 in the 40th minute.
But the Tigers ended up going in at the break 4-0 down.
Elliot King gave Newark the lead pouncing on a loose ball before George Aspling scored two and made another with a corner.
The final score was 6-0 after Aspling sealed his hat-trick from the penalty spot 58 minutes in, before Harbottle netted the sixth ten minutes from time.
Holbeach were due back in Thurlow Nunn Division One North action on Wednesday night when Peterborough United were due to be the visitors to Carter’s Park (result not known at time of going to press).
Two away trips follow with Wivenhoe United their opponents on Saturday before the following Wednesday the Tigers head to Parsons Drove looking to build on the seven points picked up in their first four games of the season.
