Four generations turn St Nicholas House into a proper family affair

St Nicholas House, Deeping St Nicholas. For ad featureFour generations have taken over 18th century St Nicholas House creating a true family atmosphere.

Hazel Bradshaw, who has been managing the hotel since June, has now taken joint ownership of the Georgian manor house with her parents Annette and Paul Tyson. Her grandmother Doris Tyson and children Emma and Andrew Bradshaw complete the family.

The house has become a proper family haven and Hazel is hoping that the welcoming, family atmosphere will make guests feel right at home.

She said: “We looked at houses up and down the country and just fell in love with St Nicholas House the moment we walked through the door.

“My parents are approaching retirement age but they’re not the sort to want to sit back and put their feet up, so getting involved with the hotel seemed like the perfect solution.”

The hotel has two suites, a family room and a double room available for bed and breakfast stays and Hazel is hoping the local community will get behind her new venture, booking the venue for christenings, wedding receptions, parties and baby showers.

The restaurant is open in the evening to guests and their visitors only, but anyone can book a table between 12pm and 3pm on a Sunday to enjoy a delicious roast dinner.

The hotel also offers traditional cream teas which can be taken in the house or the beautiful gardens, currently being restored by Fairfield Gardeners, between 12pm and 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday.

St Nicholas House is the perfect setting for your wedding reception, catering for up to 40 in the house or up to 80 in a marquee in the garden.

The happy couple can choose from a traditional style wedding breakfast or Hazel can arrange for a more informal hog roast.
