After their scheduled league game was postponed, Spalding
Water-polo hosted an internal friendly match.
The squad was split into two teams, Sharks captained by Nathan Henfrey, and Orcas captained by Phil James.
The Orcas opened the scoring when Paul Greenslade found the net but Adam Gibbons scored twice to put Sharks ahead.
Aaron Trevor levelled before two goals from Adam Found and another from Gibbons gave the Sharks a 5-2 lead after the first quarter.
The second quarter was evenly matched with four goals for each team. Tom Marsters, Ben Hales, James and Trevor struck for Orcas with the Sharks goals from Joe Scotney, Gibbons and Henfrey (2) to see the Sharks 9-6 ahead at half-time.
Sharks extended their lead with goals from Nick Rickett, Henfrey and Found (2), with Trevor adding another to his Orcas tally to leave the score at 13-7 to the Sharks going into the final period.
Orcas pushed to narrow the score with two goals from James and Marsters, however, Found took his total for the match to seven with a three-goal blast to complete a 16-10 victory.
Spalding move to their summer home at Bourne outdoor pool this month, through to August, playing on Tuesday evenings.
