Former gym shapes up to be flats

The site of a former fitness club in Spalding could become flats.

A planning application has been submitted to turn the site once unoccupied by The Fitness Company gym into an apartment complex and build an extra block of flats on the site.

The application asks for permission to change the class D2 building into a class D3 building, which would allow the apartments to go ahead.

Minister Building Company proposes the building house a one-bedroom apartment and eight two-bedroom apartments.

A new four-storey apartment building is also proposed, comprising 12 one-bedroom apartments and associated works and infrastructure.

The project’s design and access statement says the applicant plans to “deliver an attractive new housing development, with the new homes for modern living”.
