V SPORT

Spalding Sunday League stalwart Barry Barnes was among the award winners at the league’s annual general meeting.

Barnes has been on the committee for many years and has been rewarded for services to the league.

The highest goalscorer award went to Sutton Bridge Sunday captain Ben Partridge, who hit the net 31 times in his 27 appearances.

Meanwhile, Spalding Seas End Wanderers received some good news after a torrid campaign which yielded just two wins. They won the Fair Play Award.

Other awards:
Club secretary of the year – Val Lowe (Murrow Bell)
Club assistant referee of the year – David Richardson (Murrow Bell)
Referee of the year – Scott Lea
